QUEENSLAND NEWS:

The Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (EHP), have released two Expression of Interest (EOI) as follows:

  • EHP15003 Project G – Theme 3 - Sediment management and land condition in extensive grazing lands’

Is seeking proposals for projects in Great Barrier Reef (GBR) catchments that address the research priorities under Theme 3 of the Strategy, ‘Sediment management and land condition in extensive grazing lands’, which could focus on supporting grazing land managers to; improve land condition; prevent and treat gullies or streambank erosion; and/or refine land management in response to drought.

  • EHP16032 Project B – Theme 6 Local and Regional Solutions

Is seeking proposals from interested parties for projects in priority Great Barrier Reef (GBR) catchments that can address the priorities under the new Theme 6 – Local and Regional Solutions with a focus on identifying effective ways of engaging landholders and local and regional communities in activities that can achieve increased adoption of farm management practices that improve GBR water quality and may enhance farm productivity and profitability.

The above projects are part of the Reef Water Quality (RWQ) Branch’s Science Program that aims to continue and extend partnerships, encourage co-investment, enhance scientific outcomes, and distribute new knowledge to effect on-ground changes that will improve the reef’s resilience.
